There are several alternative ways to get out into the high country and the most atmospheric is on horseback, just like the mountain's early pioneers.

Saddle up and explore Mt Stirling like the Man from Snowy River, roaming freely along mountain ridges and through wide-open fields.

You can even join a guided tour with one of the local horsemen.

There are lots of fantastic rides for all ages and abilities, including trips to Craig's Hut and summit tours. Day trips and over night horse rides are also available.
