 | Trails All ski trails are marked with orange markers at regular intervals, except the Circuit and No. 3 roads which are wide, distinct and easy to follow. All intersections are also signposted and numbered. Do not venture off these trails.
The Circuit Road is an excellent beginners trail and there are many practice slopes. However, the Summit and trails leading to the Summit are unsuitable for beginners, as the decent on icy days is hazardous for inexperienced skiers.
A snow pole line runs across the Summit above the tree line. Each pole is numbered and has reflective markers and arrows pointing towards the nearest shelter - the GGS hut on the north side of the Summit and the Bluff Spur Hut 300m which is down a marked route on the southwest side of the Summit.
The grading of ski trails is relative to Mt Stirling only and may be slightly more difficult than at other resorts. For your own safety do not start along any trail unless you know its relative difficulty. If part of a trail is too difficult you need to remove your skis, walk at the edge of the trail so you don't leave dangerous footprints in the skiing surface.
Walking on the trails is not permitted without snow shoes.
