Mountain Huts

There are a number of huts and shelters situated in and around the Mt Stirling alpine resort available for public use.

Non potable water tanks are available on most huts; however, these cannot be relied on, and it is recommended that you bring enough water to sustain you for your trip.

All huts within the Mt Stirling alpine resort have toilet facilities. Camping is available within the vicinity of the huts. There is no booking system, so use may be shared, and we recommend always bringing a tent in case the hut is occupied.

Potbelly stoves/fireplaces are available inside most of the huts. Fires are only permitted inside huts or at designated firepits such as Howqua Gap and Razorback hut. Please make sure you have checked all fire warnings and restrictions and adhere to total fire bans. Click here for up-to-date fire information or download the Vic emergency app.

For the enjoyment of everyone and the preservation of this area all visitors are asked to ensure they take all rubbish out with them or place in a rubbish bin (if provided).
