Winter Road Access at Mt Stirling

 

From midday Friday 5 June 2026 until the end of winter, all vehicles using Mt Stirling Road must:

• Pay the resort entry fee, and
• Carry wheel chains.

 

Circuit Road access

• Gates to Circuit Road close from Kings Birthday weekend (midday Friday 5 June) until the Thursday before Melbourne Cup Day.
• There is no public vehicle access past Telephone Box Junction (TBJ) during this time.
• Gates may close earlier if there is snow on the road.

Other Road and Track Closures

 

• Roads and tracks to the summit of Mt Stirling (Howqua Gap Trail, Summit Track and the upper section of Clear Hills Track) are closed from 1 May to 1 December, depending on weather conditions.
