Access to the Summit
Mt Stirling Resort seasonal road closures begin on 29 April 2019, with the closure of the tracks accessing the Mt Stirling summit (Howqua Gap, Summit and Clear Hills Track south west of Monument Track). These tracks are closed from 29 April 2019 to 29 November 2019 to protect the Mt Stirling summit.
From noon on Friday 31 May, with the start of the declared snow season, the Circuit Road becomes a popular ski trial enjoyed by skiers, snowshoers and other snow enthusiasts.
The Circuit Road beyond Telephone Box Junction (TBJ) will be closed to vehicle access from noon on Friday 31 May and will reopen on Thursday 31 October 2019.
The Circuit Road will be closed from Telephone Box Junction to Razorback Track, and from Telephone Box Junction to Howqua Gap.
Other 4WD access routes to popular huts and camping areas in the Mansfield State Forest and Alpine National Park remain open until 13 June.
